Evercade continues to carve out its own niche in the retro gaming landscape. Blaze Entertainment’s lineup of home and handheld consoles are all cartridge-based systems with an emphasis on recreating that old school feel of plug-and-play gaming. Launching back in 2020, Blaze has announced that since then the line has gone on to sell over a million cartridges.
Blaze has also appointed Dominic Wheatley as Chairman of Evercade. Wheatley is best known as the co-founder and CEO of Eidos. Under Wheatley’s leadership, Eidos launched the extremely popular Tomb Raider franchise, so there’s some solid pedigree at the helm of Evercade as it marches towards its launch of the new Evercade VS-R and EXP-R consoles in July.
